Forex Regulation in France
France's AMF maintains a public blacklist of unauthorised brokers. French traders receive ESMA protections including 30:1 leverage limits. If an investment firm cannot return clients' assets, the FGDR securities guarantee pays up to €70,000 per investor for financial instruments and up to €70,000 for cash held in connection with an investment service (arrêté of 18 March 2024, article 7). The €100,000 figure often quoted is the separate bank-deposit guarantee.
